English Partnership Development Manager – Almaty, Kazakhstan
Pay band 7 / Middle management role / GBP 25 000 per annum plus relocation costs / Two year fixed term contract / Open to UK or Kazakhstani passport holders only due to visa restrictions
The British Council in Kazakhstan is recruiting an experienced English partnership development manager (band 7) to join the team working on the planning and implementation of the English strategy for the country. The post is based in the Almaty office and will involve regular travel throughout the country. For the first year of the post, the role will also have a regional remit, which will require some international travel.
Kazakhstan is a fast growing economy with huge demand for the development of English language teaching and learning at all levels. The country has a trilingual policy and aims to have 20% of the population speaking English by 2020.
This post will increase specialist ELT resource in country and take the lead on pursuing partnership development opportunities for the British Council and for the broader UK EL and education sector. It will also support more effective planning, delivery and reporting of the grant-funded work in English.
You will have a Cambridge DELTA or Trinity Dip TESOL and significant post-diploma teaching experience. You will also have experience of educational project management including proposal writing, budget management and contract management and experience of designing and delivering teacher development programmes.
The post may have diplomatic or semi-diplomatic status and is therefore open to British or Kazakhstani passport-holders only.
