The British Council in partnership with Kazakh British Technical University (KBTU) organised a UK-Kazakhstan Smart Cities Forum at KBTU on 24 May.

The forum was a one-day event organised as part of the Newton-Al-Farabi Professional Development and Engagement Centre at KBTU. The event brought together researchers and the end users of their research from the UK and Kazakhstan to develop a common understanding of the smark cities agenda. The day focused on finding solutions to tackle the environmental challenges facing Almaty as it continues to grow and evolve into a major world city.
