The British Council’s priority is the health and well-being of our customers, staff and the communities where we work.
At this point in time, we are running a limited number of computer-delivered IELTS test sessions from June 1 onwards, and will be prioritising customers on our waiting lists. We have adapted how we will run these sessions, which will be delivered in full compliance with government sanitary guidance (see attached document below). These requirements are mandatory for all test takers.
We are not currently able to provide paper-based IELTS sessions. We will communicate new test dates for paper-based IELTS sessions as soon as we are able to. Alternatively, please subscribe to our mailing list to receive up-to-date information on future test dates when we resume our exams.
We know that our customers are keen to take the test as soon as possible, and we are working to address this. If you want to, you can change your registration for a paper-based IELTS test to a computer-delivered IELTS test for free. If you wish to do this, please let us know which date you prefer using this form.
For candidates registered for a computer-delivered IELTS test, who are currently on our waiting list, we have scheduled additional test sessions that are not currently available in the registration system. We will call you to agree a transfer of your registration to one of these test dates.
We will operate a priority system based on the original test date booked by each customer: those who booked earlier test dates will be offered earlier rescheduled dates. For candidates who registered on the same original test date, we’ll give priority in scheduling new dates to those whose applications we receive first.
For everyone else interested, please check the IELTS test sessions here; if there’s availability you will be able to book your test.
In the meantime, we have lots of free resources to keep you (and your kids) learning and entertained at home.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
